Don’t just be a Robot

Fake News is undoubtedly a huge problem these days. With Social Media and Internet “Journalism” so widespread it has become too easy to believe anything one might read. A professional looking web site can give even the most absurd story an “official” quality, causing the average reader to question his or her own skepticism. With the web, anything can appear authentic with minimal effort. Anyone can come across as a qualified expert.

I’ve noticed people on both the Left and Right consume information they see online without any discrimination or suspicion. A skillfully designed web site can look as polished as ‘The New York Times,’ but for all anyone knows its creator is working off a laptop inside a Starbucks in a Truck Stop. We live in an age where a single person can compete with major News outlets.

(Of course, right now you’re thinking, “Doesn’t this describe you Mr. Ravenswood?” and to that, I say, “Touché, my friend!”)

For example, I belong to several political forums on Facebook. All of them Right-leaning, obviously. A few weeks ago someone posted a link to a News story concerning both Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar; the first Muslim women elected to the House of Representatives. Tlaib in Michigan and Omar in Minnesota.

The story stated both women proposed legislation making all Muslim observed holidays’ Federal holidays, recognized by the United States Government. That would put them on par with Christmas and Memorial Day. Meaning these days would be off nationwide.

The reaction from members of the forum was understandable shock and hostility. Posts like, “HELL NO!” and “Why don’t they go back to their sh****le countries?!” began to flow like water. Anti-Muslim sediment, which is on a perpetual slow boil, went to full on rage within minutes. If readers of this story could have thrown rocks and tomatoes at someone, they surely would have!

Upon seeing the headline my immediate reaction was shock as well, followed by resentment. But something just struck me as odd about the story. Both of these women had only taken the oath of office mere weeks ago. It seemed strange this would be the FIRST piece of legislation they’d submit to the house. After all, aren’t there plenty of other things of more importance to worry about than the recognition of Muslim holidays?

Particularly in Detroit Michigan where Rashida Tlaib is from. The problems facing that city are a mile high, and I assumed she ran on a platform aimed at fixing some. The ideal she would propose something only affecting the Muslim community was just odd. And what a betrayal of the people who voted for her.

So I decided to do a little fact checking. As we all know, doing research on the Internet is back-breaking labor. I had to go all the way over to Google and type words into a search engine. Then hit enter.

I could find no trace of this story anywhere. I saw no other posts. No News site across the web published a similar article. Literally none. After some more digging, I discovered this was a bogus story. A complete fabrication. In other words, “Fake News.”

When I tried to inform everyone on the forum of this, they completely ignored me as the anti-Muslim ethnic slurs continued to fly. Just for the record, I understand and sympathize with their resentment, but facts are facts. The truth is the truth. I for one refuse to act like the enemy (yes, I used that word deliberately).

I’m not going to give you the old wimpy, limp-wristed argument of, “If we act like them, how does that make us any better?” I’d rather puke.

My reasoning is entirely different. We are sliding into societal decay; many believe Civil War is imminent. We (Conservatives, Libertarians and Right-Leaning Moderates) are the reasonable, CIVILIZED portion of our society. The Left represents Chaos. We must delay and avoid this fall into the abyss at all cost. If we replicate the behavior of the irrational crowd, we will eventually devolve into our own mob. Turning into little more than brutes ourselves.

Do you want to become a gigantic version of Northern Ireland? Where people kill each other over the color of a hat or sweater, they were wearing at the wrong time and place? It’s already happening. Look at the Left; they are attacking people on site for wearing a red baseball cap.

This isn’t theory or fantasy any more people; it’s real!

America cannot devolve into two separate street gangs at perpetual war with each other. It will mean doom. Not only for us but for the world. Our civilization is going down the drain. Let’s try and hit the brakes.

Don’t just believe everything you read online. Don’t be a robot. Do a little research first before blindly accepting something. It’s not hard.

On a side note: believe me, I have absolutely NO DOUBT this story will indeed be true one day. In fact, I don’t think it’s much of a prediction. When Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar feel comfortable enough and think the time is “right” they will undoubtedly purpose legislation specifically geared towards the Muslim community and no one else. More so if future elected Muslim officials join them. It is their nature to promote their culture at the expense of the non-Muslim population. This pattern has been repeated over and over and over again across the globe. There is no reason to expect it not to happen here.

But as far as predictions go I’ll make one right now; you had better buy a stopwatch. You’ll need one to time how quickly the entire Democrat party falls in line to vote yes on any of these Muslim measures.

They won’t allow a Nativity Scene or Christmas tree on Government property citing the all-important, “Separation of Church and State,” but get ready to sit back and watch them frantically trip all over themselves when Muslim representatives want one of their religious icons placed on City Hall for Ramadan. It will resemble all those silent movies with the ‘Keystone Cops.’ Only it won’t be funny.

Where's my white privilege?

Just in case you were unaware, I am a straight white male who was raised Catholic. In my career, I have worked for just about every type of person.

I’ve had supervisors who were black women, white women, gay men, Hispanic men, gay Latino men, Hispanic lesbians, Jewish lesbians and immigrants from Jamaica, Israel, China, and Russia. One of the most significant aspects of living and working in New York City during my youth was the opportunity to work with and for so many different types of people from so many unique backgrounds.

I’ve had coworkers from South America, Africa, Asia, Europe, and the former Soviet Union. All of whom I got along with great. I enjoyed their company immensely. I once worked for a large advertising agency founded by two entrepreneurial women and with an almost entirely female staff. They were terrific employers, and I have fond memories of working for them.

If someone were to ask me what lessons I’ve learned from my vast work experience, one would be this. For the most part, I can say working for other straight white males has been a complete nightmare. Sure there were exceptions. But overall it was a horror show.

“But wait, don’t you have White Privilege?” you ask.

My response, “What’s that?”

I can only relate to you what happened to me personally from my own experiences. Many of which were terrible. Here are some examples;

I was once placed in a great position by a headhunter in the tech industry. It was in the web marketing department of a telecom company in San Diego, where I lived at the time. I was the sixth person they had tried in six months. No one lasted longer than five weeks. I however lasted five months. No one else had been able to handle the heavy workload until I came along. My boss was white, and the owners of the company were white.

Once a week my white supervisor sent my white headhunter glowing reviews of my stellar performance. She was thrilled to be working with a professional capable of doing the job. One who was very easy to get along with and whose skills matched their demands. It became clear to everyone early on that I was, “the right guy for the job.” After five months it was time to make it official and hire me.

Did I get the job?

No.

Keep in mind I was the only employee out of six who didn’t fail in this position. What does common sense tell you? If five people can’t do a job and one can then you obviously hire that person.

Not in my reality.

So what happened?

The headhunter who placed me in this position tried to negotiate the details of my employment. As it turned out this company didn’t want to pay me a livable wage. San Diego is a costly place to live and requires a certain salary just to make ends meet. The salary they were willing to pay would not support a single adult in the San Diego area. I would have been forced to go on food stamps. No joke.

I was impressed by the fact they never bothered to ask if I was married or had kids. Which at my age is more than likely. So they were offering me a salary incapable of supporting a family. I was shocked and stunned as was the headhunter. This job demanded highly sought-after technical skills as well as a great deal of education. What they were offering was utterly unrealistic.

Negotiations to buy out my contract and hire me full time fell to pieces, and one Friday afternoon I was let go. But not before they informed me they had hired someone else. They also assumed I would be willing to train this new employee to do the job I earned and got screwed out of. (Are you angry yet?)

Instead of hiring me they hired a much younger white guy. They hired him without even trying him out first. He was offered the job and put on staff without any test period. When I asked why I was told, “Well, he can do everything you can do and edit video as well.”

I responded with, “I’ve been editing video for years. If someone had just asked me that I would have told you so.”

Their response: “Well, he does 3D modeling too.”

My response: “So do I. I’ve actually won awards for my 3D modeling skills.”

Their response: “Well, whatever.”

The guy they hired instead of me lasted all of five weeks before he quit. He was not able to keep up with the job demands. So the position was vacant again. But did they call the one guy successful at doing this job?

No.

Weeks later I saw my position advertised on a job site. I knew precisely who placed it, that part was obvious. They listed, “Seven years of back-end web development experience required.” I can tell you people with that much experience get $75 an hour. But they wanted to offer me minimum wage.

In other words, the market dictates a specific value for sought after, in-demand skills. This meant nothing to them, where they got this idea is beyond me.

For those of you unfamiliar with the tech market, I’ll illustrate what went on here. The situation was analogous to this;

They wanted a brand new 2019 Trans Am sports car but for the price of a used 2007 Toyota Corolla. You and I both know if you went to a Trans Am dealership and made the offer I just spelled out you’d be thrown off the lot right after they laughed at you!

White Privilege?

So where was my white privilege? At the time I didn’t know I had any. If I had maybe I could have invoked it with my desired employers. “Hey guys,  C’mon, I’m white. You’re white. Let’s stop this nonsense! Hire me and pay a decent wage. After all, if you don’t hire me, you might get stuck working with one of those ‘people of color’ and then where will you be, right?”

Somehow I don’t think so. Here’s another story.

I once worked for a software company in Illinois. The owner was a rich, white millionaire. The senior staff was entirely Caucasian as well. After working there for six months business took a turn for the worse and they were forced to lay some people off. I was one of forty who got the ax that day.

I was depressed and bummed out I had lost my job. I didn’t know what I was going to do so I applied for unemployment before I started my job search. A few days later the State Office of Unemployment called me to say my former [white] employer was contesting my unemployment claim! That means I wasn’t going to get anything to survive on!

Try this one on for size. When the unemployment office called them to verify I had been laid off my WHITE EMPLOYERS claimed I had lied! They told the state I had been let go for, “Disciplinary Reasons as a Result of Misconduct.” In other words, they caught me doing something illegal, and I got fired for it! An outright LIE! You see, if they confirmed my claim was legitimate their unemployment insurance premiums would go up. So they fought it. And of course the claims of all forty staff members they let go!

I was out of work and needed those unemployment checks to pay rent and buy groceries until I lined something else up. Without that money, I honestly don’t know what I would have done. Getting that phone call from the state was one of the worst moments of my life.

And guess what? They did the same thing to one of my coworkers. A WHITE coworker whose white wife had just given birth to their first white child only a few days ago! But that didn’t stop our former white boss from trying to screw him out of unemployment insurance either! And he had a BABY TO FEED!

See how EASY it is being white? It’s like being part of a great big club! We all look out for each other!

NOT!

Luckily the state believed me, and I got my benefits. But this didn’t lessen the shock of what they tried to do. I could not understand how such cruelty was possible in this day and age. It was like something you’d read in a Dickens novel.

Or how about this one?

A small company made up entirely of WHITE MEN offered me a great job in San Diego while I was still living in Illinois. On paper, it looked amazing! A real career opportunity. I could not believe my luck. Before I accepted the job, I asked if they would pay for my relocation expenses. They said yes but only after I completed my first ninety days.

They had been trying to fill this spot for over a year when I came along, so it seemed like a no brainer to me. If they hadn’t found anyone to do this gig in a year, there was no way I’d not last past the three-month mark.

Long story short, boy was I wrong. You see, these WHITE MEN told me they were about to be extremely busy and needed me to hurry up and move before their enormous work crunch hit. I gladly complied and showed up for my first day of work bright and early after relocating cross country. Full of energy and promise!

What followed was eight weeks of excruciating agony and boredom. Their anticipated workload did not materialize. It didn’t take a genius to figure out what had happened. They were betting on some significant contract coming in, probably trying to land a huge client. The deal must have fallen through because there was literally no work to do. The staff and I were forced to sit at our desks waiting for something, anything to work on. At one point I began rearranging furniture just to feel like I was accomplishing something.

The stress was HORRIBLE! These guys clearly had a lot riding on this deal. When it fell apart, it must have meant something close to Chapter 11 for their firm. Their anxiety translated into rage. Rage they focused on the staff. Like it was our fault. I’ve never been so abused in the workplace before. Friends asked me why I put up with it.

What could I do? I was between a rock and a hard place. I had just moved to San Diego and signed a one-year lease on an apartment. I had bills to pay. One of which was a $4,000 moving cross country bill I needed reimbursement for. I didn’t know anyone in San Diego; these guys were my only source of income. I felt trapped. What was I going to do? Mouth off to them and say, “Go to Hell!” I needed that job to survive.

Anyway, eight weeks after my first day the phone rang while getting ready for work. It was a Monday morning when my white male employers called to fire me over the phone. They claimed I had lied about my skills and experience, so I was let go. It was so obvious there was no work coming in I had to wonder why they made up that lie. What was the point?

I called several labor attorneys to see if I had a case for a loss of employment lawsuit. They all asked the same question, “Did you get anything in writing before taking the job and moving?” The answer was a foolish, ‘No.’ Lesson learned. In the business world, if something isn’t written down and signed it never really happened.

(By the way, if you’re reading this and ever get offered a job you have to relocate for, please learn from my example and get everything in writing!)

So now I was unemployed in a state I had only lived in for two months. This means under California State law, I was not eligible to collect unemployment benefits! I wonder what my new landlord would say about that? Oh, and don’t forget about my being stuck with a $4,000 moving bill because I didn’t pass my first ninety days.

See what it’s like working for other straight, white, Christian males? (In case you’re wondering, they were proud Democrats, just saying)

White privilege strikes again!

Another time I was in the running for a great job at a very prominent financial magazine. The most capitalist of all capitalist publications! The editorial staff was, of course, completely WHITE. And when I say white, I mean the Waspiest of Wasps! Just picture those stuffy old fogies you see in church every Sunday. The ones with every gray hair perfectly placed. Like some type of senior Ken Doll or the elders from the movie, ‘Footloose’ with Kevin Bacon.

The job was between two other guys and me. One was a legal Mexican immigrant who just happened to be gay. The other was a white guy.

Before the final decision was made the white guy bailed out because he received another job offer. When they reached a decision, guess who got hired? Right! The Mexican gay guy!

Wow! That good old white privilege struck again!

In case you’re wondering, I wasn’t mad. I was bummed, but the ‘gay Latino’ just happened to be a good friend of mine. We have worked together for years. So when he got the job and not me, I was disappointed but glad for him because he deserved it. And now he was a great contact at a prestigious magazine so I couldn’t complain.

By the way, at the time I never thought of any of this in the context I just laid out. This story happened two decades ago, and for twenty years I always said, “Roberto got the job and not me.” I never said or thought, “They gave it to a gay Mexican and not me!” for even a second.

While preparing to write this post I was thinking of my real-world examples where being white didn’t count for shit when this popped into my brain. But that’s what it’s like dealing with the left. When you think their way, you are forced to see everyone by skin color and race.

Let me detail the ‘Privilege’ I do feel entitled to.

I have over 30 year’s professional experience in my field, having worked for such institutions as The Associated Press, The Wall Street Journal and ABC News. All in New York City at the world headquarters of each, as such my skill level is rather high for what I do and my professional temperament above average, which means I know how to get things done and done quickly.

So, in my opinion, I have ‘skilled seniority privilege.’ This should be taken into account when being considered for a job.

I also hold three different degrees. Two of which are from prestigious east coast design schools with stellar, international reputations. One is a Master’s degree.

So I have ‘higher education privilege.’ After all, what’s the point of getting a Master’s Degree? Isn’t it to make more money and be considered for top level, better-paying positions? Doesn’t having a Master’s degree open doors usually closed to those without one? Those who didn’t work their butts off and go into deep student loan debt to get it!

I have a Master’s degree now, so my earning potential has increased exponentially, right? (insert sarcastic look here)

At my age it is overwhelmingly likely for me to have college-age offspring or kids about to enter higher education, meaning I have dependents and those are NOT cheap. Plenty of friends my age have two or three kids in their late teens attending universities. Imagine their monthly expenses.

So in my book, that means I have the right to claim, ‘dependents privilege.’ Meaning I’ve got a lot of mouths to feed, a legitimate concern that should be considered by any future employer.

You can call me arrogant, but on some level, I just assumed working your entire life entitled you to certain perks in the workplace, like a substantial salary. I was raised to believe this. It’s something I saw as a child. For example, recent medical school graduates make less than doctors with more experience. A skilled surgeon who performed a significant number of operations is in high demand. More so than one with less under his or her belt.

How many times had I heard about the executive CEO of a corporation starting in the mail room as a lowly “office boy,” eventually climbing the corporate ladder until reaching the top? As a child, adults frequently pointed this out to me. Using the term, “climbing the ladder” to instill the concept in me.

You start at the bottom and over the years work your way up. After years of hard work and perseverance, you WILL BE rewarded.

NEWS FLASH: IT DIDN’T HAPPEN!

Do you know what all my so-called “privilege” got me after working hard for 30 years?

Zero.

Zlitch.

Nada.

Nothing.

My skill level and experience mean absolutely nothing now when applying for a job. After all, why pay me what I’m worth when you could get three or four interns for nothing? And sure, they probably can’t do the job as well as I can but so what? We’ll fire them after three months and try a new batch. Eventually one has to work out, right?

Or why pay a well-trained American citizen anything close to minimum wage when you can outsource the work to Taiwan or India? Who cares what that is doing to our country!

My Master’s degree is a joke. Don’t even get me started. The only thing it qualifies me to do is teach more rubes dumb enough to go to college or university so they can rack up student loan debt, which is why the thought of teaching makes me SICK!

And having a family to feed and support? Do you know what the last straight, white male with hair as gray as mine and a beard as white as mine offered me at the end of the latest job interview I politely sat through?

$45K a year!

“We might do $50K for the right person.” He said.

$45K a year?! The last time I made $45K a year was 1994 when I was 28 years old with no dependents! Hey, Mr. Fellow Straight White Christian Male, ever hear of inflation before?! Do the math on what $45K a year gets you in 2019 as opposed to 1994 when gas was $1.56 per gallon!

THAT SALARY WOULD QUALIFY ME AND MY KIDS FOR FOOD STAMPS!!!!!!

There’s no way I’d qualify for a mortgage with that paycheck. What bank would give me one? How would I pay my bills? I live in an expensive west coast city, one that was super cheap to live in five years ago when I moved here. In fact, that’s precisely why I moved here! Because the cost of living was reasonable! Is it my fault that changed?! Is it my fault thousands of stupid WHITE Californians fled their disaster of a state and flooded into mine? Driving the cost of everything through the roof!

Now I’ve been displaced by other white people!

Hey! How’s that for you? Between skilled seniority privilege, higher education privilege, dependents privilege and of course, the almighty WHITE PRIVILEGE you know what I have to show for it?

A great, big pile of NOTHING!!! I haven’t had a raise in over twenty years!

I find it ironic I never even heard the term, “white privilege” until President Obama’s second term in office. The first black president. A man who came from a broken home without any privilege at all became the most powerful man in the world. How did a black man without white privilege rise to such heights of success? The very fact he was a two-term president defeats the entire assertion white privilege exists!

I’ve got a question for you;

In America, can a black kid whose father was a Muslim immigrant from Africa, a product of divorce, raised by a single mom without a wealthy, powerful family grow up to sit in the Oval Office of the White House? The people who believe in white privilege would give you a resounding “No!”

But Barack Obama did it.

How’s that for white privilege?

Let’s be honest here, do you know what “white privilege” really is? It’s the Socialist Democrats answer to the question black America asks them;

“Hey, we’ve had sixty years of social programs, affirmative action, diversity, forced busing, redistricting, social engineering, black and white buddy films, white guilt, progressive education in our public schools and the almighty ‘War on Poverty’ launched by LBJ in the 1960s and we are worse off than ever before! You guaranteed the eradication of poverty if we just listened to you and implemented all these programs, so we did. But now there are more poor people than before and infinitely more misery! Hey Democrats, why is that? What happened? Why didn’t your ideas work?”

Democrat answer: “Oh, um, ah…………. White privilege! Yah! That’s it!”

Cluelessness and the Superior Mind

If you’re going to lie, at least try and make it believable…

One undeniably universal trait among Leftists is their supreme belief in the smuggest of delusions. The fallacy that they are smarter than everyone else.

Particularly their enemies, The Republicans. But coupled with this is their odd detachment from reality. Something I’ve probably pointed out countless times in previous posts. If I’m redundant then let me apologize, it’s just this all too common trait fascinates me to no end. I don’t get it. I can’t explain it. It’s mystifying, baffling and amusing all at the same time.

Why are they all the same? All identical? If I believed the ‘Matrix’ was real, I’d be forced to conclude some kind of computer virus is spreading through the system. Corrupting other programs with something I’ve named, ‘Chaos 5.0.’ Think I’m joking? Ever try talking to a Leftist? They all seem to exhibit “symptoms” of the same ailment — identical symptoms.

One is complete cluelessness. Or, as I stated earlier, a detachment from the real world.

Example: they will openly express contempt for White Working Class Americans and then scratch their heads when this group doesn’t vote for them. “What happened?” they’ll ask. Then instinctively form committees to, “Study the root causes of the problem” who inevitably come to some conclusion so convoluted, only sheltered academics with zero work experience can comprehend it. Or at least, pretend they do.

Ever hear the term, “Academic Word Salad” before?

Here is a perfect, head-scratching example. An acquaintance of mine, with Left-leaning opinions, posted this on his Facebook page.

If you are going to use a handful of crimes by undocumented immigrants as a reason for why we need an idiotic wall, then you better as hell use the 325+ mass shootings in America last year as a reason why we need gun control. One is an actual problem; the other is manufactured.

What strikes me as odd about this comment is that it didn’t strike him as odd. The figure of 325+ mass shootings in 2018 immediately comes across as fraudulent upon hearing it.

There were 325 mass shootings in the United States in 2018?! Any thinking person’s immediate reaction is, “Then why didn’t I hear about them?” I’m well informed and keep up with the National News on a daily basis, and yet this staggering level of carnage escaped my attention? How is that?

Knowing the Bozo who posted this as I do, I can guarantee his response to such a logical question would be to blame a conspiracy by the media to cover up the facts. A plot he’d concoct on the spot when challenged with such common sense.

This gets back to my observation on their detachment from reality. Most Leftists I know believe the entire Media is run by ‘Right-Wing Corporations’ who deliberately skew all News to project their Pro-American, Nationalists agenda on us in an act of deliberate and subliminal political indoctrination.

Yes, I can almost hear you laughing out loud right now.

325 mass shootings comes to one massacre a day for eleven months straight. And yet the nightly News contained no information about them at all. When I think of mass shootings from 2018, the Parkland Florida one instantly comes to mind. Beyond that, I’d have difficulty naming another, let alone 324!

I can understand the Leftist point of view on this topic and see why they call for more “gun control” in the wake of such horror. How can any human being look at the carnage from one of these “Mass Shootings” and not feel an intense level of disgust? These tragedies are simply revolting, not to mention nightmarish beyond belief. The fact children are often the focus of them is entirely vile.

But the Leftist reaction to such things is always two-fold. First; an UNREALISTIC call for more laws and regulations to, “make sure it NEVER happens again!” A statement fueled by pure emotion and zero logic. Second; always blame your political opponents as the inspiration for such tragedies. I’ve heard Democrats say, “If the NRA didn’t exist none of these mass shootings would have ever happened.”

A statement that literally can’t be backed up by fact. But who cares? Say it anyway!

Rahm Emanuel, the Democrat Mayor of Chicago once said, “Never let a serious crisis go to waste… Crisis provides the opportunity for us to do things that you could not before.” – Wall Street Journal, November 19, 2008.

Like, blame your political enemies for the slaughter of children they had absolutely nothing to do with, literally less than an hour after these mass murders happen! Because hey, why let their blood dry before you can bash Republicans for their deaths? Let’s get our priorities straight. What’s more important? Dead kids or scoring political points?

Anyway, what baffles me about my acquaintances Facebook post is this; if you’re going to make an argument against gun violence then why not make an intelligent one? And if your case isn’t intelligent then why aren’t you smart enough to notice it?

In other words, he looked at this 325+ figure and just instantly believed it. Nothing about it struck him as odd. He didn’t see one Red Flag at all. How could an intelligent, educated human being swallow such nonsense without any analysis and still consider himself smart?

I went and looked up the data this came from; it took an excruciating level of effort and research. I went to Google and typed, “Mass Shootings 2018” and this is the first entry that popped up in all of 9 milliseconds!

Exhausted after my search I needed to rest so the next day I read this “list” to clear up my confusion.

To say its criteria for what is and isn’t a “Mass Shooting” is fast and loose is an understatement! It states, “Any incident in which 4+ victims are shot and injured.” Notice it says “injured.” So if a perpetrator were to shoot six people in the right leg, it would count here as a Mass Shooting even though no one died. November 25, 2018, Houston, Texas – “A thirteen-year-old boy was killed, and six other people were injured in a shooting at a block party. At least two shooters were involved, and police believe it may have been gang-related.”

November 25, 2018, Oakland, California – “Four people were wounded in a drive-by shooting while attending a vigil for a resident of their area who had died of natural causes.”

July 28, 2018, Los Angeles, California – “Two people were killed, and six were injured in a drive-by shooting by a liquor store.”

July 4, 2018, Atlanta, Georgia – “After a bar fight spilled into a parking lot, shots were fired, killing one person and wounding three others.”

THIS IS COMPLETELY PREPOSTEROUS!!!

A gang-related drive-by shooting on a rival gang’s house party is labeled a “Mass Shooting” because four or more people were hit. That’s NOT a mass shooting; it’s called VIOLENT CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR!

Street Gangs are made up of career felons who shoot each other all day long over turf wars with ILLEGAL GUNS! (That’s right! Unlicensed guns they acquired illegally!) What a difficult concept to understand. Especially if you’re a Harvard Educated Ph.D., then everything seems to go right over your head.

Oh, and for the record, there are already a TON OF LAWS against drive-by shootings as well as possession of illegal, unregistered firearms, not to mention narcotics. Hard to believe they still happen every weekend in Chicago and East LA. You would naturally assume career criminals would just obey the law, right?

Let me be clear here, what I believe most Americans consider a “Mass Shooting” is an event in which one individual suffers a psychotic breakdown of some kind, filling him with the homicidal urge to take as many human lives as possible in one catastrophic, suicidal act of violence. The purpose of these crimes is not to gain any material wealth or even to get away. It is only to kill as many people as possible within a limited amount of time. These individuals are RARELY taken alive.

There is no other purpose than to kill and then be killed by the police when they arrive. It is clearly some mental breakdown. That’s not an excuse; it’s just the cause.

To conflate this with everyday violent crime is deliberately lying to the public! And it’s incredulous the Left is too stupid to see how transparent the attempt is! You’d have to be an idiot to think this would work!

That’s really what astounds me. How can you be so dumb as to think other people are that dumb? And the flaws in their arguments never occur to them!

If they claimed there were 100 Mass Shootings in 2018, red flags would go off in my head. Even that number is too high. High enough to spark suspicion and skepticism. If you said there were 50, I’d scratch my head and demand proof. But to go with 325 when everyone knows there are only 365 days in a year is beyond stupidity!

I’ve read the average man can bench press 135 pounds. So if I were going to lie to you about how much weight I can bench, I’d at least make it believable by saying 165 pounds. Not a huge exaggeration but an untruth none the less. But when concocting this lie what if I decided to tell you, “I can bench press 699 pounds?” I’ve so overshot what is possible the statement is instantly seen as false. But why didn’t it occur to me to construct a better lie? I know, because I’m a Leftist and nothing obvious ever occurs to me!

And look at his claim illegal aliens only commit a “handful of crimes.” I remember reading back in the early ’90s that 25% of the U.S. Federal Prison population was made up of illegal aliens. That shocking fact stuck with me for a long time. So I went and did another search. Guess what I found?

According to a 2018 report by the Department of Justice; 26% of inmates incarcerated in the Federal Prison system are aliens! 66% of that number are in the United States unlawfully!

Does that sound like a “handful” of criminals to you?

Just look at these figures on a State level. This is from a 2018 report by the Texas Department of Public Safety.

“Over 250,000 criminal aliens were booked in Texas local jails between June 2011 and April 2018. These individuals were charged with more than 663,000 offenses, including:

  • 1,351 homicide charges
  • 79,049 assault charges
  • 18,685 burglary charges
  • 79,900 drug charges
  • 815 kidnapping charges
  • 44,882 theft charges
  • 50,777 obstructing police charges
  • 4,292 robbery charges
  • 7,156 sexual assault charges
  • 9,938 weapons charges.”

THIS IS A “HANDFUL OF CRIMES?!!!” 663,000 in just one state!

And this is what my acquaintance refers to as a “manufactured problem.” This is manufactured? A made-up issue? Is he kidding?

What is this costing our country regarding taxpayer dollars lost? Not to mention the toll of human suffering the victims and their families go through on a daily basis. The loss of life and dignity. Does any of this matter to the Left?

They don’t want a wall built, but a lot of illegal aliens end up behind walls anyway due to their criminal behavior! Maybe the Social Justice Crowd wants prison walls removed since they believe, “walls don’t work.” But then again, none of them wants to keep convicted criminals in prison anyway. They are always letting them out first chance they get! #MikeDukakis!

Besides, if you broke the law sneaking into our country in the first place wouldn’t it stand to reason you’d try and keep your head down by staying out of trouble with the Law? Do we really want anyone that reckless walking around within our borders?

How ironic that posts last line is, “One is an actual problem, the other is manufactured.”

He backed up his “actual problem” with MANUFACTURED data while labeling a real-world, nationwide criminal crisis as nothing more than a myth. It’s as if his Left-Wing mind inverted reality. Like the facts were run through some kind of filter and flipped into a photo negative of the truth.

Maybe this is what happens when a person’s mind is infected with Chaos 5.0? Some kind of inverted, logic filter is installed on the organic hard drive we call “the human brain.” Along with a Reality Firewall.

It’s mystifying to me; this Himbo isn’t a rich man. He doesn’t hold political office or have any power. He’s just an average guy. So what does he get out of saying things like this? He has nothing to gain from it.

Does he want more illegal immigration? The answer is clearly, ‘Yes.’ But why? After they cross our border, these people are exploited, mistreated and used by the most unscrupulous segments of our society. They aren’t paid minimum wage; they don’t receive health insurance, they are paid $2 an hour and treated poorly. And this is the honest ones who, “just want to work.”

Why keep promoting this tragedy?

But most of all, why lie about it? He lied about gun violence. He lied about undocumented immigrants crime statistics. Why? What does he get out of it?

And if you’re going to lie then at least try and make it believable. His post was like a five-year-old child trying to lie to an adult with an utterly see-through tale. The kid thinks he is smarter than the adult but shocked when that proves not to be the case.

But that’s a good analogy for Leftist thought. For the most part, it is childlike and always immature.

Winston S. Churchill once said, “To each there comes in their lifetime a special moment when they are figuratively tapped on the shoulder and offered the chance to do a very special thing, unique to them and fitted to their talents. What a tragedy if that moment finds them unprepared or unqualified for that which could have been their finest hour.”

Case in point;

In America, Muslims have a terrible reputation. Debate the fairness of this all you want; it is a just fact of life. Many Americans don’t like Muslims or their religion and view them with a great deal of suspicion and mistrust.

So when two Muslim women made history in 2018 by winning their election bids for Congress, it was hailed as a sign of great things by many. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan’s 13th Congressional District and Ilhan Omar of Minnesota’s 5th are testaments to America’s greatness and generosity as well as further proof Americans are willing to give anyone a fair shot if they play by the rules and apply themselves. The fact two women from such a mistrusted community could be elected fairly is undoubtedly something to be celebrated and proud of.

This was indeed a golden chance for these women to show America a different side. To make an excellent first impression and shoot down negative stereotypes. To change minds and win hearts. But what did we get instead?

During her swearing-in ceremony, Rashida Tlaib said; “And when your son looks at you and says, ‘Mama, look, you won. Bullies don’t win,’ and I said, ‘Baby, they don’t’ — because we’re gonna go in and impeach the motherf****r,”

A statement followed by what sounded like the cheers at a Junior High School pep rally.

Way to fumble the ball! This was a once in a lifetime shot at some positive PR for the Muslim American Community. But there’s more to it than just that.

America is badly divided. More than it’s been in a long time. This growing division is weighing down on the minds of many people and fueling ever-increasing anxiety. The Democrats claim, on an hourly basis, President Trump is divisive, that he preaches hate and divides people. But what is it they offer instead as an alternative?

Michelle Obama said of her Republican opposition; “When they go low, we go high!” Was this an example of going high? Sounding like someone who gets into fights while standing in the checkout line at Walmart?

This is language we as adults prefer not to use in front of children. What she said was low class and ghetto and not becoming of her newly achieved office. As the mother of children did it not occur to her for even a second, she should be setting an example? Or that she is now the visible face of the Palestinian Community in America?

I can hear the counter argument now, “What about Trump and how he talks?” President Trump was not vulgar the night of his victory; he was quite humble. Not swearing or saying anything disgusting at his inauguration. Using the Democrats own logic Rashida Tlaib, “got down on his level.” Is that a Democrat goal? To be on Trump’s level? Somehow I don’t think so.

And before you bring up the infamous, “Grab her by the p***y,” comment, please keep these facts in mind. President Trump was having a private conversation with another man at the time. Completely unaware they were secretly being filmed. There’s a huge difference. Had Trump been standing on a stage surrounded by the Press making such a comment would be a completely different story.

Keep something else in mind, saying “Well Trump does it to” is the response of a CHILD! It’s something a five-year-old says to justify bad behavior. Not a Leader. A real Leader. Someone who sets an example by ignoring what others are doing and charts a new path. One out of the gutter. This is all just more of the same from the Democrats. More hate, more immaturity, more bickering. They never do anything to elevate. It’s always to tear down. No wonder there’s a Walk Away Movement.

I admit I curse quite a bit myself in real life. But I’m also old enough admit things are not getting better. They are clearly getting worse and have been for decades, so maybe it’s time I made an effort and changed my behavior. Our society is in a freefall of decay. You’d have to be blind not to see the downward slide our culture is on.

So why not go in the other direction?

Ever since President Trump’s electoral victory in 2016 the Democrats have thrown one temper tantrum after another, almost stomping their feet demanding we void the results of the election and recognize their obvious divine right to rule. After all, why let something as trivial as an election get in the way of their thirst for power? How dare the uneducated peons of the working class not acknowledge their rightful rulers and choose this ogre instead! But if you want people to vote for you then give them something to vote for. Set an example of a better candidate. Stop threatening to sue your way into leadership but instead, actually lead.

There is a saying, “If you want to be a King then first be a Man.” Then let it be said, if you want to be the Leaders of Great Nation then LEAD.

As for Rashida Tlaib, you only get one chance to make a good first impression but, if you’re lucky, you only get one chance in a billion to make history. How many bigots are looking at her now saying, “See? See that? We elected third-world women of color into office and look what we get!”

It seems both Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar have a gift for fighting ethnic stereotypes. Both made anti-semitic statements in the past and are part of the BDS movement. Both said they will lobby for ending our support for Israel.

Wow, two Muslim women who are anti-Semites and hate Israel? I would never have guessed.

As Churchill said, “What a tragedy if that moment finds them unprepared or unqualified for that which could have been their finest hour.”

When I was in grade school back in the early 1970s, my teacher took us on a little field trip. We were brought into the school’s gymnasium to see what voting machines looked like. Must have been an election year and my school was a polling station. So it was an excellent opportunity to show kids how the process worked.

After looking one over for a few minutes, I can clearly remember thinking one thing almost immediately; THESE ARE ANCIENT! Like artifacts you’d see in a museum. I had never seen such old contraptions before! The memory remained vivid in my mind because I was honestly shocked by what I was looking at. This was what our precious Democracy relied on to count votes? It seemed impossible!

Image my surprise over a decade later when I was 18, voting for the first time and walked into one of the exact same voting machines! After I voted I was POSITIVE my vote was lost! I even asked for help because I was sure this decrepit machine could not have registered my ballot correctly. The machine looked like it had last been used when Lincoln ran for Congress!

Over the years I’ve heard many, many complaints on the state of voting machines and proposed solutions. The most common one is why not switch to something electronic? We have the technology capable of performing such a task. If we have ATMs managing millions of bank transactions a day why can’t we have machines that can count votes electronically the same way?

The primary argument against this is the possibility of such machines being vulnerable to computer hacking by nefarious sources. A plausible concern but one I’m sure could be safeguarded against. Either way, the idea has NEVER been pursued.

Imagine my surprise when I was told the 2016 Presidential Election had been “Hacked” by Russian operatives to ensure victory for Donald Trump.

Hacked? Hacked what? The technology needed for this to be true was never developed and deployed. What were the accusers of this so-called ‘Russian Plot’ talking about?

To say our election was, “Hacked” implies computer-related shenanigans. And just what was it that was “hacked?” Our voting machines? But how do you “hack” a machine that has no hard drive, no operating system software, no connection to the internet (or any LAN system for that matter), no Ethernet port and as far as I can tell, isn’t even plugged into an electrical outlet! In some countries in the USA people still vote by paper ballot! Others vote my mail! Computers can hack other computers. They cannot hack paper envelopes! This conspiracy theory has a gap in it the size of Barack Obama’s ego.

It would be as if a friend came up to me and said, “Hey! I know how to Hot-wire a Stagecoach!”

At which point my reaction would be; “Uh? But you can’t hot-wire a stagecoach. It has no combustion engine — no ignition system. It isn’t even a self-powered vehicle in any way. There’s nothing to hot-wire.”

Friend: “You’re wrong. Yes, you can. I hot-wired one.”

Me: “OK, how?”

Friend: “I just told you.”

Me: “No, I mean what was the process? Explain the mechanics behind it.”

Friend: “I told you, I hot-wired a stagecoach.”

Me: “Yes but how? Explain the steps.”

Friend: “By hot-wiring it!”

Me: “How? There’s NO ENGINE!”

Friend: “You know what? You’re a complete asshole! I’m tired of talking to you! You just don’t get things because you’re not as smart as me!”

(Ladies and Gentlemen; every conversation I’ve ever had with a Democrat)

I know people furious Trump won and positive the Russians were behind it, but when I ask them for details, all I get are blank stares. “Were votes added? Were votes taken away? What exactly was done? How was this accomplished?”

It’s deer in the headlights time!

A coworker gave me an explanation she read, “It was Facebook ads. The Russians bought a ton of Facebook ads promoting white culture and superiority over non-white culture. The ads stated if you want to keep America white then you must vote for Trump.”

This is a fascinating explanation mainly because last time I checked Hillary Clinton is white. So both candidates were white. I’m not sure how a racial aspect would play into this and if what she is saying is true wouldn’t this strategy have been more effective the two times Barack Obama ran for President?

And what did the Russians gain from putting Trump in the White House? This has never been made clear.

The other thing is this, of all the adults I know, I am one of the only ones who use Facebook for anything. Most people I’m aquatinted with really hate it and don’t have an account. So Facebook’s reach is not as broad as one would think. Another aspect of this claim that doesn’t hold water is this; in the age of the Internet, we are all bombarded with ads on an hourly basis. Anyone who uses the web at all has developed a subconscious filter for merely ignoring them. I don’t pay attention to about 98% of ads I see online. This indeed goes for Facebook ads. After my coworker told me this, I had to open my Facebook page and physically look for where the ads are situated because I could not recall from memory. They are pretty much background noise.

This argument is also pretty weak when you consider how shallow it is. People are not braindead lumps of flesh staggering around all day without a single thought in their heads. The sheer arrogance of implying someone would look at a tiny ad on Facebook and be influenced enough to change their position on a host of issues is beyond absurd, not to mention condescending. Most of the population would have to have an IQ in the high single digits for this to work. It would be as if a lifelong N.Y. Yankees fan suddenly switched to being a Red Sox’s fan upon seeing a Facebook add urging him or her to do so. As if there’s nothing more to an individual’s loyalty than the same impulse an amoeba gets to procreate. If this were possible wouldn’t the Pro-Life Lobby buy millions of Facebook ads urging their political opposition to change their position on abortion and VOILA! Overnight there’d be no Pro-Abortion Lobby in America!

It’s yet another shining example of Left-Wing arrogance. “If you didn’t vote for the same person I did you must be a drooling, slack-jawed Cro-Magnon incapable of any independent thought.”

Using this logic, all the Democrats have to do to win the next Presidential Election is merely buy more Facebook ads than the Republicans. Problem solved! It’s that simple!

It also seems very unlikely there were political ads placed anywhere on the web pushing a racial agenda when voting for one specific candidate. Would this have not been noticed by the public at large? Would the News media not have jumped on the story and been enraged by such ads? What about the NAACP? Has anyone ever seen an ad telling white people to vote for a candidate because they are white? In this day and age, such a thing would be attacked and condemned instantly. How is it in two years of campaigning and election coverage I never once saw an ad which remotely resembled anything like what she described?

Does the fact Hillary Clinton was a completely lousy candidate ever factor into this? Her acceptance speech the final night of the DNC Convention was one of the worst I have ever seen! You are talking about someone who’s had her own personal hate club since the early 1990s. I’m not a historian, but I honestly don’t know of any other Presidential Candidate who inspired so much animus consistently over a 25 year period then tried to win the White House.

It has been over two years since this “Russian meddling” in our election was supposed to happen. At this date, no one has ever explained to me just how it was executed. What were the steps involved on the Russians part? How did they go about accomplishing their goals? What were the mechanics behind the crime?

But now Stacey Abrams is blaming “voter suppression” for her loss in the Georgia Governor’s race. Voter Suppression, this year’s latest political Boogie Man. According to polls, her opponent, Brian Kemp received 50.2% of the vote while she got 48.8%. A clear victory for the Republican. Unless of course, you’re a Democrat, then you don’t lose elections ever. There’s no such thing as voters rejecting them. That’s completely impossible.

And you can scream, “Voter Suppression!” as much as you want without ever providing proof of these allegations. If there are indeed people legally eligible to vote who were denied that right somehow why is it I’ve never seen one interviewed by any News outlet or Journalist? Shouldn’t this be a HUGE story someone would want to investigate? And yet the victims (who must number in the tens of thousands) are silent.

What’s the lesson here? If you’re a Democrat and lose, there’s nothing a good conspiracy theory can’t solve. Keep whining like a four-year-old because that’s the kind of leadership we’ve come to expect from them.
